Summer and winter alike, a blanket of white persists at the summit of Mont Ventoux. This giant is our Provençal Mount Fuji. At its feet, countless springs flow silently, emerging here and there. Some are well known: Fontaine de Vaucluse and the Groseau spring. Joël-Claude Meffre, poet and archaeologist, and Ji Dahai, painter and calligrapher, visited around twenty of them in a year. Ji Dahai sketched each of these springs in his notebooks, using ink and brush, capturing them as he saw them. Joël-Claude Meffre searched the sources of his words for the words that would be heard. It was in Brantes, after the last visit, that the word “resurgence” emerged as the key.
