An artistic companionship. Jean Angladon and Paulette Martin
Lien copié !From 5 June to 30 August 2026
FreeThe Angladon Museum pays tribute to its founders, artists and collectors from Avignon, heirs to the Jacques Doucet collection. 170 of their works are exhibited in a clash evoking the atmosphere of their workshop. We owe them the Museum that bears their name, but who were Jean Angladon and Paulette Martin? They were husband and wife, artists and collectors, heirs to the collection of paintings and art objects of their great uncle Jacques Doucet. Thanks to them, these treasures, including masterpieces by Sisley, Van Gogh, Modigliani, Cézanne, Degas, Manet, Picasso, can now be admired in Avignon. Painters, engravers, they led an extraordinary artistic companionship, each listening to the other, sometimes inspired by the same patterns while expressing each a style, a singular personality. The Angladon Museum pays tribute to them through this exhibition. (only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays)
