Additional information

Museum Louis Vouland, Avignon

Here you can discover the exceptional collection of 17th- and 18th-century decorative arts that Louis Vouland (1883-1973), a food industry industrialist, built up over some fifty years for this house where he settled in 1927. Furniture, earthenware, porcelain, tapestries, clocks, chandeliers, mirrors and Chinese objects create the intimate atmosphere of this timeless house museum, where the magic of the 18th-century spirit is at work.

The museum presents a permanent collection of Decorative Arts from the 17th and 18th centuries. It also presents works by 19th and 20th century Provençal artists from the museum's collection, during thematic or monographic exhibitions.

TO COMPLETE YOUR VISIT (included in the Pass)

The museum offers temporary exhibitions that unfold in contemporary rooms and within the collections of decorative arts, where constantly renewed dialogues are formed.

Exhibition “C'est brodé” (It's Embroidered)

From 5 Aug 2025 to 4 Jan 2026

Free

In this age of immediacy, embroidered pictures bear witness to the perseverance, patience, and education of young girls and the activities of religious institutions. These delicate, often anonymous objects express taste, devotion, or love. Taken from the collection assembled by Chantal and Dominique Dekester between 1990 and 2010, these 36 embroidered pictures immerse us in the art of needlework and thread alongside the tapestries and paintings on permanent display at the museum.
